Frequently Asked Questions
Potager is a term coined by the French to describe a large, formal garden. Potagers, however, were not always fancy, in fact, they came from a much simpler time. The word itself evolved from the act of stepping out to the kitchen garden to gather some fresh herbs for that night's soup. Potager (pronounced poe-ta-jay) came to mean vegetable garden in French. Potagers evolved, transitioning from the simple kitchen garden behind the house, to elaborate gardens filled with medicinal herbs. For Wild Witch Potager the word is a nod to our French heritage and refers to our magical, witchy garden where we grow
ingredients for our botanical products.

At Wild Witch Potager we try very hard to use only the best all-natural ingredients. Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The greatest advantage of soy wax is that it is completely renewable, and a well-made soy candle will burn cleanly and slowly.
At Wild Witch Potager we only use premium, phthalate-free fragrance and essential oils.
